Data Quality with Fuel Cycle

Ensuring Unmatched Quality in Your Research Samples

Fuel Cycle is committed to maintaining the highest standards of sample quality for our clients. Our robust processes and partnerships are designed to ensure the reliability and accuracy of respondent data. Here’s how we achieve this:

In-Depth Screener Surveys

Prospective community members must complete detailed screener surveys to verify the accuracy of demographic information and ensure they meet the required criteria for participation.

IP Address Validation

During recruitment, we validate IP addresses to detect and exclude duplicate profiles, preventing fraudulent entries from the same individual or automated systems.

Login Requirements

To prevent automated bots from participating, respondents are required to create a login. This additional layer of security helps ensure the authenticity of participants.

Global Privacy Organization Partnership

Fuel Cycle collaborates with a global privacy organization to screen every email collected during recruitment. This partnership helps identify and eliminate respondents marked as spam or fraud across global databases.

Double Verification of Demographics

We include double verification of key demographic details and custom screening questions in our recruitment process to ensure the accuracy and reliability of respondent profiles.

Use of Trusted Recruitment Sources

Fuel Cycle leverages a variety of trusted recruitment sources, including internal CRMs, online sample vendors, social media, and receipt invites. These sources are pre-vetted for quality, ensuring a reliable and diverse pool of respondents.

Automated Exclusion of Fraudulent Profiles

Our recruitment system is designed to automatically exclude profiles that fail validation checks or are flagged during the screening process.

Monitoring & Reporting

Throughout the recruitment process, community managers monitor progress, including budgets, quota management, dropoffs, completes, and member registrations. Daily updates ensure transparency and prompt issue resolution.

Member Quality & Fraud Checks

Fuel Cycle employs several strategies to identify potential fraud and low-quality respondents:
Unique Recruitment links
  • Multiple/unique recruitment links: Can be used/clicked one time and tailored to the recipient (e.g., Customer ID appended). Recommended whenever possible.
  • Single/re-usable recruitment links: Can be used/clicked an infinite number of times until disabled. Ideally used when multiple/unique links cannot be leveraged (e.g., social media posts, login page drip campaigns, QR codes).
Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
  • Mandatory 2FA SMS verification: Required for signup and rewards redemptions, particularly recommended for communities recruiting through panels, social media, open sources, or using single recruitment methods.
Manual Reviews

Even with several layers of tech-oriented and automated fraud prevention tools, manual reviews of final member data are crucial. We look for:

  • Gibberish, nonsensical, irrelevant, or duplicate open-end responses
  • Duplicate IP addresses
  • Duplicate names and/or birthdays
  • Strange or unusual email domains
  • Usernames with vulgar or profane words
  • Contradictory answers

Fuel Cycle will handle these reviews for your first recruitment. Ongoing reviews can be managed through our Community Management services as needed.

Incentivized Activities

Keep incentivized activities during recruitments below the threshold for immediate gift card redemption when combined with other fraud prevention measures.

By adhering to these rigorous processes and leveraging both automated and manual checks, Fuel Cycle ensures the highest quality sample for your research needs.
